In July of 2001 the company merged with the Gucci Group, and the designer Tomas Maier (German born) took control and revived the line by making if feel more modern and making their traditional woven leather their signature. Bottega also has international boutiques in: Italy, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Japan, Hong Kong, Guam, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
