The Fendi story begins in 1918 when Adele Casagrande opened a leather and fur boutique in Viadel Piebiscito located in central Rome. Adele married Edoardo Fendi in 1925 and they decided to change the name of the shop to Fendi. The business grew and a new shop was opened in via Piave in 1932. In 1946 Paola just 15 who was there oldest daughter went to work for them and then was soon followed by her four sisters.

The 1965 marriage between the Fendi's and German Designer Karl Largerfeld proved to be a most successful union. Largerfeld created the inverted FF logo that joined with the many other fashion logo's to represent a status symbol. Then with the help of the sisters they revolutionized the treatment of leather and other fur clothing. What was once heavy cumbersome garments were turned into soft pliable garments with a good fit. Now unused skins were turned into fashion and easy to use garments.

In 1966 Fendi presented its first ever Couture Fur Collection that was designed by Largerfeld. The line was very well received and brought to America by Marvin Traub of Bloomingdales. After Bloomingdales. Fendi was introduces to many other high end retailers were it is still being sold today.

Fendi's newest brand offering is a wide variety of home furnishings with items such as sofas, arm chairs, poufs, chaise lounges, consoles, and day beads. These are all done with the typical Fendi style and culture. In Fendi Casa we see the same attention to detail as in the garments and fine accessories. Fendi as a company is known for there fine quality, great care and attention to there choice of fabrics and there combinations.
